NHS App
The NHS App is the quickest way to manage your repeat prescriptions.
Download the app, set your nominated pharmacy, and order anytime — no need to wait for the
surgery to open or queue on the phone. You can change your nominated pharmacy in the app if
you’re away or moving, and prescriptions can be ready for collection within a few hours.
Visit www.nhs.uk/nhsapp for more information and download links.
If you don’t have a smartphone, use this link instead.
Paper or Email Request
If you’d rather not use the app, you can:
- drop a repeat prescription form into our secure letterbox outside, or
- email bswicb.downton.dispensary@nhs.net
This manual process takes longer — please allow at least 5 working days.
Dispensary
If you live more than one mile from a pharmacy, you’re eligible to use our on-site
dispensary. Our friendly team can help with your prescription needs and answer any questions
you may have.
Opening hours: 8:30am to 1pm, 2pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday
Urgent Requests and Medication Queries
If you need a prescription urgently, or a medication isn’t showing on your NHS App, contact us online rather than calling — we’ll pick this up without you needing to wait on hold.
Use this for:
- an acute (short-term/urgent) prescription request
- a query about a medication, including if it isn’t showing in your NHS App
- any other prescription question
Local Pharmacy
Pharmacists can offer advice and over-the-counter medication for a range of common
conditions and minor injuries, including:
- coughs, colds and flu
- upset stomachs
- aches and pains
- skin rashes
- cystitis
- the morning-after pill and pregnancy tests
Your pharmacist can also help manage repeat prescriptions and answer questions about
medication your doctor has prescribed.
